METHOD & LIMITS

What the score does—and does not—say.

StormLedger organizes historical public records. It does not predict a future loss or replace an official flood determination.

Address & flood zone

The Census Geocoder provides the address point. That point is tested against FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer polygons. The result is map context, not a lender determination.

Disaster & storm history

FEMA declarations and 15 years of NOAA Storm Events are matched at county or designated-area level. They do not prove a specific home was damaged.

Other hazards

NOAA event types supply wildfire, winter/cold and extreme-heat history. USGS earthquakes are measured within 100 kilometers of the address.

Historical Hazard Context Score: a transparent summary of records found, not an actuarial, insurance, appraisal or engineering risk score.
